Sustainable, environmentally beneficial, price competitive and high qualitative pulp while saving the world’s forests.
An Opportunity to Revolutionize the Industry
Empty Fruit Bunch is a valuable pulp resource, with Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia alone producing over 80 millions tons per year, translating into 20 million tons of dry pulp.
Large quantities of pulp and paper are consumed year after year, and the industry does not enjoy the best reputation. However, we have identified a new raw material that could potentially revolutionize this industry: Empty Fruit Bunches (EFB), which accumulate in abundance during palm oil production. With 80 million metric tons produced each year, EFB has largely been treated as waste—until now.
For the first time, we can harness this underutilized resource. The oil palm is a perennial plant whose fruit can be harvested multiple times throughout the year, ensuring a consistent and sustainable supply of raw material.

TEPP invented a process to produce highest quality pulp from EFB
We transform the waste of the palm oil industry
into highly qualitative and sustainable paper pulp.

Empty fruit bunch
Empty fruit bunch (EFB) is a residual by-product of palm oil production, abundantly available year-round and serves as a valuable raw material for the innovative TEPP pulping process.

Long fiber
In the TEPP process, the material first undergoes preparation and cleaning to facilitate the subsequent pulping process, requiring significantly fewer chemicals and less energy compared to traditional wood pulp methods.

Wet pulp
The resulting product, referred to as “wet pulp” with a residual moisture content of ≤75%, can have its quality tailored to suit intended applications, such as specific fiber length, lignin content, and freeness.

Paper
EFB pulp is excellent for a range of downstream processes, including paper and packaging, biodegradable tableware, tissue paper, and fiber cement.

Real life examples
TEPP-Pulp is revolutionizing the way industries use raw materials. Our EFB-pulp is being integrated into a wide range of products by local producers, leading to the enhancement of existing items and the creation of innovative new product lines.
A versatile raw material
Industrial paper, tableware, tissue paper, high-grade packaging and even fiber cement tiles. All of these have been made with the help of versatile EFB-Pulp.
